Optimization of process reliability for Central Waste Management Kaiserslautern (ZAK)

Customer:

Central Waste Management Kaiserslautern (ZAK)

ZAK is not only responsible for the treatment, recycling and disposal of waste for over 250,000 people in the city and district of Kaiserslautern, but also acts as an innovation leader in the field of renewable energies. On an area of more than 100 hectares, ZAK uses state-of-the-art technologies for waste processing in accordance with the German Closed Substance Cycle Waste Management Act (KrWG) and, with over 150 employees, is considered a critical infrastructure in accordance with the KRITIS-DACH regulation.

Challenges:

Safety and process monitoring in critical infrastructure

ZAK faces unique challenges in terms of safety and process monitoring. A system failure or malfunction in the weighing process for waste deliveries could cause considerable economic damage.

Solution:

Optimization and maintenance of existing systems

Schirra IT was commissioned to take over, maintain and optimize ZAK's internally managed inventory systems. Three successful projects have already been implemented in this context. The ZAK recycling center received new monitoring system components and cameras for a secure and documentable process. In addition, Schirra IT implemented an early fire detection system and installed a camera in the incineration room to monitor and guarantee the incineration process.

Summary:

Schirra IT - Reliable partner for process optimization and security

By taking over and optimizing the existing systems, Schirra IT has made a significant contribution to improving ZAK's process reliability and efficiency. The successful implementation of projects, including equipping the recycling center with state-of-the-art monitoring technology and implementing early fire detection, underscores Schirra IT's reliability and expertise as a partner for innovative solutions in waste management.
